Smokos App

Most of you play on the phone, so we built Smokos to live there. The Smokos app is a web app: it runs in your mobile browser, installs to your home screen in a couple of taps and opens full-screen with its own icon, just like anything from the App Store, minus the store. Every pokie, live table, the cashier, Rewards and live chat are all in there. Here’s how to get it set up and what to expect once it’s on your phone.
Why We Went With a Web App
Apple and Google don’t list real-money casino apps for Australian players, so a native download was never on the table. Rather than push a clunky APK file around, we built the Smokos app as a progressive web app. You get the same result as a native install: a home-screen icon, a full-screen window with no browser bars, push-style notifications for promotions if you opt in, and instant loading once the app has cached itself on your device.
The upside for you is that there’s nothing to update. When we add new pokies, tweak the cashier or run a promo, it’s live the moment you open the app. No version numbers, no “update required” screens, no storage hogging your phone. It also means iPhone and Android users get an identical experience, because the Smokos app is the same code on both. And if you switch phones, log in on the new one and everything, from your balance to your loyalty progress, is exactly where you left it.
Installing on iPhone
Open the Smokos site in Safari, tap the share icon at the bottom of the screen, scroll to “Add to Home Screen” and confirm. That’s it. The icon appears with your other apps, and tapping it launches Smokos in full-screen mode. Face ID or Touch ID can be used to autofill your login through Safari’s saved passwords. Safari is the browser that supports home-screen installs on iOS, so use that rather than Chrome for the initial setup.
Installing on Android
In Chrome, open the Smokos site and you’ll usually see an “Install app” prompt at the bottom of the screen. Tap it and the app goes straight to your home screen and app drawer. If the prompt doesn’t show, tap the three-dot menu in the top corner and choose “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”. Samsung Internet, Firefox and Edge work the same way.
What You Can Do in the App
Everything the desktop site does, the Smokos app does too. The full pokies lobby is there, sorted into G.O.A.T, Degen Favourites, New Slots, Exclusive Picks and Clayton’s Picks, with search and provider filters. Every game runs in HTML5 and most newer titles support portrait mode, so you’re not turning your phone sideways to see the reels. Demo mode works on mobile as well, so you can test a game before playing for real.
The live casino streams in HD and adjusts quality automatically to your connection, so a hand of blackjack on 4G doesn’t stutter. The cashier is built for thumbs: deposit by Visa, Mastercard, bank transfer or Apple Pay, and Apple Pay in particular is a two-second job on iPhone. Withdrawals, verification uploads, deposit limits and self-exclusion settings are all reachable from your profile. Live chat sits in the corner of every screen, the Live Wins feed and Hall of Fame are a swipe away, and Rewards shows your level and what the next one unlocks.
Speed, Data and Battery
We’ve kept the Smokos app light. The interface caches on your phone after the first visit, so opening it is near instant even on a patchy connection. Pokies load their assets on demand rather than all at once, which keeps data use sensible on mobile plans. Live streams default to a resolution that suits your connection and can be bumped up manually on Wi-Fi. The app pauses cleanly if you take a call mid-spin and picks up the round where it was.
